About Me

Hey! I’m Elmer Kline, and welcome to my blog. I’m a tech nerd with a background in telecom, programming, and network wizardry, but don’t worry, this blog isn’t just for folks who ‘speak’ fluent Linux.

Whether a seasoned sysadmin or someone who just asked, “Wait, you can run your own apps at home?”, you’re in the right place.

My love for self-hosting started with a couple of old PCs and a lot of Googling. Fast forward to today, and I’ve built a home lab that (usually) runs like a dream. When it’s not tossing cryptic error messages at me, it’s a beautiful thing.

I started this blog in June 2025 to document my ongoing adventure into the world of self-hosting, successes, screw-ups, and all. You’ll find guides, gear recommendations, experiments, and the occasional “oops, don’t do what I did” moment(s).

So grab a coffee, SSH into something (or pretend you know what that means), and let’s jump into the world of self-hosting together.
